We were replacing all the windows in a Grade 2 listed property and were required to undertake a window survey. We commissioned Heritage Window consultancy to carry it out. Gary was responsive and undertook the survey and produced the detailed report within a few weeks. The report was comprehensive and reflected Gary’s deep knowledge of the subject. The report was accepted by the local authority.

However, Gary went well beyond the original commission by supporting us in making the planning application and assisted in identifying a company to manufacture and install the replacement windows within the restrictions indicated by the local council. The application became complicated due to the demands of the council concerning the type of double glazing they would accept. Gary helped us navigate our way through these problems and negotiated both with the council and the chosen firm. His invoice was very reasonable given the amount of work he undertook. Eventually, consent was granted and this was due in large part to the role played by Gary.

I am very grateful for the advice and expertise of Gary Rowan of Heritage window consultancy. We applied for the replacement of all of the windows in our Grade II Cotswold Cottage dating from 1670.  We wanted to replace them with double glazed units. The windows were all different ages, sizes and types including metal and timber windows. Gary carried out a comprehensive site survey and provided a window condition report to support the application. Gary also sourced two separate contractors which could provide the windows we need. Gary also helped us communicate with the Cotswolds District planning conservation office throughout the process, resolving any queries. It was comforting to have someone on our side who could do this for us. As a result we have just today received the Listed Building Consent and hope to fit the new windows asap. I would have no hesitation in recommending Gary.
